Dermatophytosis is a contagious infection of the skin, nails, and hair that is spread by direct or indirect contact. There was a failure of standard therapy, resulting in the establishment of recurring and chronic dermatophytosis. The aim of study is to assess the extensive areas of tinea infections, the resistant and recurrent tinea infection, and the efficacy of antifungal drug on clinical cure. This is a type of cohort study was carried out at the outpatient clinic of the department of Dermatology of Salah Al-Deen General Hospital in Tikrit City in the period from October 2020 till June 2021 samples of 100 patients were included. Patients were given anti-fungal treatment and followed up for 3 months. Result is Trichophyton mentagrophytes were the most prevalent isolate. The study revealed statistically significant association between types of treatment and outcome (P = 0.001) Griseofulvin treatment had 33 % (no response) Itraconazole treatment has 9.6 % recurrent and 19.2 % no response. In conclusion the occurrence of atypical dermatophyte infections is rising and now become a Great Imitator. They become extremely extensive and late to diagnose.

Aims: The current study is conducted to determine the prevalence of fungal skin infection to the human population of district Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Methods: In the current study we investigate 470 patients containing the fungal skin infection in the seven tehsil of District Buner. Results: During the study there are three major infections we investigate which is present in District Buner among the fungal skin infections and it’s are the following, Tinea infection, Candidiasis infection and Pityriasis versicolor infection. . The Tinea consists of tinea capitis, tinea faciei, and tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis and tinea Unguium. Practical Implication: The fungal skin infection is more common in this tehsil because of their humidity. We also reported the mode of the transmissions and as will is the cause of fungal skin infections in human in district Buner. We reported the proper lab procedure and the treatment of fungal skin infection in human in district Buner. Conclusion: There are three fungal infections are present one is Ringworm infection about 55% are present and Candidiasis infection and it is about 27% and the Pityriasis versicolor is 18%. We also determined the sub Tinea infection, Tinea Capitis are 35 %, Tinea Faciei is 22%, Tinea Corporis 15%, Tinea Cruris 13%, Tinea Pedis 10%, and Tinea Unguium is 05%.We determine the distributions of fungal skin infection in human with age below the ten years 25%, above the ten years is 25%, above the twenty years is 15%, above the thirty years is 17% and above the fourty years is 18%. We also investigate the ratio and tehsil wise. Tehsil Daggar consist 7%, Tehsil Gagra 8%, Tehsil Gadezai 10%, Tehsil Mandan 25%, Tehsil Chagharzi 20%, Tehsil Amazi 13% and Tehsil Khodokhel 17% is present in District Buner Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Objective: To evaluate the increase in frequency of tinea incognito along with its current presentation and etiologic features. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting: Dermatology Outpatient Clinic, Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, Dow University of Health Sciences. Period: July to November 2023. Material & Methods: It is a retrospective cross-sectional study done on subjects who were diagnosed with dermatophystosis from outpatient clinic of dermatology at Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi. The subjects were inquired about predisposing factors, drugs and family history, along with examination of the site of infection. The Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 was used for the analysis of data. Results: In this study, tinea corporis was determined to be the most frequent site of dermatophytoses (77.2%) with most of the participants being females (66.1%). Topical steroids were most commonly utilized (71.7%), whereas 44.9% of the population used steroid of moderate potency. Significant association of steroid use was found with itching (p = 0.019), pustules (p = 0.019) and erythroderma (p = 0.012) when compared with secondary signs and symptoms of dermatophytosis. Conclusion: This study concluded that wider prevalence, easy access and differentiable modes of application of steroids without proper consultation have worsened the clinical picture of dermatophytosis and increased the likelihood of recurrent infections.
