“…This resulted in the fact that most of the included studies showed a high or moderate risk of bias. However, in most of the included studies, tinnitus was the major inclusion criterion for cochlear implantation in patients with SSD, 5,20,21,24,26,27,33,34,36 whereas in studies with bilateral hearing loss, tinnitus was mostly evaluated as a side effect. Nevertheless, we were able to demonstrate in this systematic review that the mean tinnitus questionnaire scores were decreased after cochlear implantation in all included studies.…”
