“…Thus, the homogenous titanium catalyzed organic reactions such as multi‐component reaction, multicomponent coupling reaction (iminoamination), intermolecular hydroaminations, cyclization, cyanation, radical alkylation, alkylation of activated alkenes, aldol reaction and Mannich reaction have been well documented [4] . Recently, titanium based heterogonous materials have gained an attention in synthetic transformations such as the Mannich reaction, Friedel‐Crafts reaction, Bigineli reaction, Strecker reaction, Michael addition, C‐H functionalization, coupling reaction and so on [4q,5] . Among them, the Mannich reaction is a straight forward C − C and C − N bond forming reaction that takes place in either one pot three‐component pathway or two step process.…”

“…Studies conducted by our team have shown that the watertolerant supported titanium tetrachloride possesses only Lewis acid sites. 22,47,48 Some experiments were conducted where triethylamine (TEA), a Lewis acid blocker 49,50 was added to the supported titanium tetrachloride in toluene in various amounts prior to the addition of pygas feed to investigate how the cationic polymerization of polymerizable aliphatic/aromatic hydrocarbons is initiated. First, a relatively sharp decline in yield was observed, which can be explained by trapping impurities such as water that would otherwise poison the catalytically Lewis acid active sites, causing the polymerization process to fail.…”

“…[42,43] In previous works by our group, the merits and details of cross-linked polystyrene-supported Lewis acid catalysts (based on a carrier prepared via suspension copolymerization) for a variety of organic transformations were investigated and good catalytic performance and remarkable applicability of the cross-linked polystyrene-supported metal catalysts were observed. [44][45][46][47][48][49][50] Most recently, the preparation of cross-linked copolymer beads with tunable porosity as supports for heterogenizing homogeneous catalysts for active, easily isolable, and environmentally friendly systems has been reported. [51] Continuing previous research works, we decided to extend our studies in this area for making Lewis acid-based cross-linked PNVP heterogeneous catalysts.…”
