Topical Steroids Are Effective in the Treatment of Idiopathic Granulomatous Mastitis

Abstract: Topical steroids seem to be effective in the treatment of IGM characterized by skin changes. Prospective clinical studies would be useful in determining the clinical efficacy of topical steroids in the treatment of IGM.

“…Altıntoprak et al performed steroid treatment as a topical application of a steroid ointment for a mean duration of 8.2 weeks in 28 IGM patients. Recurrence was observed in only three patients whereas no steroid‐related side effect was detected in any patient .
