Topologically massive gravito-electrodynamics: exact solutions

Abstract: We construct two classes of exact solutions to the field equations of topologically massive electrodynamics coupled to topologically massive gravity in 2 + 1 dimensions. The self-dual stationary solutions of the first class are horizonless, asymptotic to the extreme BTZ blackhole metric, and regular for a suitable parameter domain. The diagonal solutions of the second class, which exist if the two Chern-Simons coupling constants exactly balance, include anisotropic cosmologies and static solutions with a point… Show more

“…1 Note that any solution of our bosonic equations will also solve the field equations of a different model where the vector mass term in the action is replaced by Maxwell kinetic term with appropriate normalization, since the resulting Einstein equation will be the same and the vector field equation will be the derivative of ours. Such bosonic models and their solutions have been considered in [14,15,16].…”

“…It is unclear how to relate the lowenergy quantum field theoretical amplitudes obtained in this Paper to the classical conical structure of spacetime [5]. Various solutions to the field equations exhibiting such singularity structures have been obtained recently in [23], and it would be interesting to connect these structures with the polymer structures dominating c > 1 string theory.…”

“…A feature that makes WAdS 3 spaces of particular interest is that these geometries appear as exact solutions of a large variety of models, including string theory [15,16], topologically massive gauge theories [17,18,19,20], higher-derivative theories [21], bi-gravity theories [22], and Einstein gravity non-minimally coupled to matter fields [23]. A minimal setup in which WAdS 3 spaces appear is three-dimensional gravity with no matter fields.…”
