Total Synthesis of the Caged Diterpenoid Atropurpuran

Abstract

In this account, we wish to share some stories behind our 13-step synthesis of a caged, complex diterpenoid atropurpuran. Though our approach may appear to have proceeded smoothly, the core construction puzzle unravelling and the late-stage decorations were full of drama.
