RESUMODada a atualidade do tema e aliando-o à compreensão contemporânea do Turismo, propôs-se uma pesquisa exploratória, com o objetivo de delinear um panorama da produção de conhecimento em torno do mesmo, entre os anos 2000 e 2014. A pesquisa, de caráter qualitativo, deu-se pela busca em base de dados internacionais, de artigos publicados em periódico, para neles selecionar dados que contribuam para o debate teórico-conceitual. Seis trabalhos foram escolhidos e classificados. Elaborou-se, também, um breve perfil dos quinze autores. Após, foram sintetizadas as principais contribuições de cada trabalho, explicitadas as tendências e afinidades dessas publicações e verificadas convergências nos subtemas abordados. Diante disso, defende-se a pertinência de maior difusão dos conceitos e teorias dos trabalhos elencados e a ampliação do debate acadêmico no que tange às mobilidades turísticas, buscando fazer frente ao descompasso da produção sobre o tema no Brasil, em relação à de outros países.Palavras-chave: Turismo. Understanding individual movements brings useful insights for a variety of applications, such as urban planning [1], security [2], migration studies [3], disease spread [4], traffic prediction (transportation planning) [5], tourism [6], and recommender systems [7]. Researchers have tried to use surveys [8] from travel or tourist centers in a traditional way to study mobility patterns; however, thanks to new technologies, finding a dataset to analyze people's mobility is not a big concern anymore.…”

Social media data analytics is the art of extracting valuable hidden insights from vast amounts of semi-structured and unstructured social media data to enable informed and insightful decision-making. Analysis of social media data has been applied for discovering patterns that may support urban planning decisions in smart cities. In this paper, Weibo social media data are used to analyze social-geographic human mobility in the CBD area of Shanghai to track citizen’s behavior. Our main motivation is to test the validity of geo-located Weibo data as a source for discovering human mobility and activity patterns. In addition, our goal is to identify important locations in people’s lives with the support of location-based services. The algorithms used are described and the results produced are presented using adequate visualization techniques to illustrate the detected human mobility patterns obtained by the large-scale social media data in order to support smart city planning decisions. The outcome of this research is helpful not only for city planners, but also for business developers who hope to extend their services to citizens.
