Toward a Blockchain-Enabled Crowdsourcing Platform

Abstract: Crowdsourcing has been pursued as a way to leverage the power of the crowd for many different purposes in diverse sectors. Crowdsourcing aims at collecting information, aggregating funds and gathering employees to perform tasks of different sizes among other targets. Data Integrity and nonrepudiation is of utmost importance in these systems and is currently not guaranteed. Blockchain technology has been proven to improve on these aspects. In this article, we investigate the benefits that the adoption of blockc… Show more

“…Solutions in supply chain management [22][23][24], healthcare [25][26][27] and education [28][29][30] are only some of the areas where blockchain is expected to highly contribute and boost performance. Blockchain has managed to showcase its many advantages, especially when combined with Internet of Things (IoT) devices that can initiate transactions that are safely guarded in the blockchain, or crowdsourcing applications [31,32]. However, it has disadvantages too, which are mainly focused on the scalability limitations that are in place, considering the large amount of data that could be transferred (or stored) in the network.…”

“…The proposed framework has two main advantages, one is the transparent incentives are provided by the framework, the other is trusted personal data can be shared in a cross-platform system. Kogias et al [28] proposed applying blockchain and smart contract technologies to improve the existing crowdsourcing scheme from the perspective of security. Li et al [29] proposed a decentralized CrowdBC framework based on blockchain, which can preserve the privacy of customers.…”

“…In the rapidly evolving domain of digital gaming, blockchain technology emerges as a transformative force, offering novel paradigms for player interaction and game design [1]. At its core, blockchain serves as a decentralized digital ledger, recording transactions in a secure, transparent, and immutable manner [2,3]. This technology, foundational to the new wave of web3 games, redefines the traditional boundaries of gaming, introducing concepts of true digital ownership, trustless environments, and decentralized governance [4].…”
