Toward effective use and balance: Investigating pros and cons of smartphone use in an interview study

Abstract: A large number of people spend a major part of their days staring at their smartphone screens. The objective of this poster is to study smartphone use and its positive and negative effects, and to provide recommendations for balanced use. We interviewed 20 female and 4 male participants. Ease of communication and multitasking are the key benefits, and overuse and disconnect from real world are the detriments in smartphone use.
