Abstract: Nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) have shown outstanding performance in the detection of small masses down to single proton sensitivity. To obtain a high enough throughput for application in practical mass spectrometry, NEMS resonators are arranged in two-dimensional (2D) arrays.
