Abstract:Microwave frequency standards based on ions are promising as the next generation atomic clocks. This paper reports the recent progresses of the microwave frequency standard based on laser-cooled 113 Cd + ions developed at Tsinghua University. Based on the current experimental setup, the groundstate hyperfine splitting of 113 Cd + is measured with higher precision and a better short-term frequency stability is obtained than before. To improve the performance of the Cd + clock further, a new experimental setup w… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
