Abstract:Mutual coupling of (thermofluiddynamic) modes of perturbations can affect the thermo-acoustic stability of combustors and contribute to combustion noise. For example, vortical or entropic perturbations can be transferred to acoustic perturbations if accelerated by the mean flow.
