Abstract:Fig. 1: We derive a pore network model from topological decomposition and connectivity to estimate the flow properties through a packed powder bed imaged by micro-CT. From left to right: Regions are selected from the raw micro-CT images, and the pore network model is computed; The fluid flow is solved by converting it to a resistive network, which allows the analysis of flow paths, flow through pores, and flow-permeable surface area, all of which correlate to the performance characteristics of porous solids.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
