Abstract:We present the case of an adult burn patient complicated by toxic shock syndrome. This is the second case documented in the literature, as the syndrome seems to be an unusual but potentially fatal complication of Staphylococcus aureus infection. However, it must be seriously considered and treated immediately by physicians of adult burn units as soon as the clinical signs are recognized.
