Toxic thyroid adenoma – case presentation and general considerations

Abstract: Toxic thyroid adenoma is the third leading cause of hyperthyroidism (following Graves-Basedow disease and toxic multinodular goiter). It consists in the presence of a single nodule that autonomously produces thyroid hormones, causing – in time – outlining of characteristic clinical picture of hyperthyroidism.
