Traceable Bioinspired Nanoparticle for the Treatment of Metastatic Breast Cancer via NIR‐Trigged Intracellular Delivery of Methylene Blue and Cisplatin

Abstract: Cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) eliminates abnormal cells through target recognition-triggered intracellular toxin delivery. Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell improves cancer cell recognition of CTL, but its effectiveness and safety in solid tumor treatment are still hampered by poor tumor infiltration, suppressive tumor microenvironment, and severe on-target off-tumor toxicity. Given the functionality and challenges of CTL in cancer therapy, herein, a CTL-inspired nanovesicle (MPV) with a cell membrane-derived sh… Show more

“…To demonstrate the potential of PD‐L1 silencing for the treatment of metastatic cancer, the antitumor effect of BMS‐202 NPs was further studied using a lung metastatic 4T1 tumor model ( Figure a). The initial step was to intravenously inject 4T1 cells (1 × 10 4 ) into BALB/c mice, which were expected to grow and form lung metastases . The tumor‐bearing mice were then divided into five groups ( n = 5): 1) PBS (i.v.…”

“…Nevertheless, given their importance in the early diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of various diseases, assessment of tissue morphological structure, metabolism and physiological function, and pathological characteristics, much work is ongoing in this area . To date, PA imaging has been applied in the biological sensing of metal ions, pH, enzymes, temperature, hypoxia, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and reactive nitrogen species (RNS), as well as in the imaging of tumors, lymph nodes (LNs), vasculature, and brain tissue …”

“…Local irradiation could then be used at the time of maximum accumulation at tumor sites. The combination of localized hyperthermia and chemotherapy led by CM-coated MPV inhibited tumor progression while maintaining low systemic toxicity (Zhai et al, 2018). RBM-decorated hollow mesoporous Prussian blue (PB) NPs were also employed for cooperative cancer therapy.…”
