Abstract: Background Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) is an extremely rare connective tissue disease characterized by subsequent ossification of skeletal muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other fibrous tissues. The ossification of these tissues progresses during childhood and leads to limb and trunk deformities.
