Traction Energy Consumption of Electric Locomotives and Electric Multiple Units at Speed Restrictions

Abstract: In this article the author reports the measurements made by traction measuring car of Railway Engineering and Metrological Service Centre (REMSC) in the research and development work "Complex investigation of reduction possibilities of additional costs due to speed restrictions on electric traction railway lines". As results it can be stated that  correction parameters in the research and development work made between 2008 and 2010 should be changed because of specifying. These parameters can be used for calc… Show more

“…Further prospects for mutual integration of Ukraine's railways into the European transport network will depend on the actual status of international transport corridors, the availability of rolling stock to provide transportation at fixed speeds, solving many political, economic, technical-technological problems of passenger traffic and freight turnover between Ukraine and Europe (Kurhan and Kurhan., 2018;Fischer, 2015).…”

“…The breakdown of frame frames of pile-shells or caissons is carried out afloat by three theodolites installed at the support points to observe the position of the center of the foundation, and the fourth, oriented along the axis of the bridge, to track its turn. Effective use of the system of light-meterlaser [4,10].…”

“…This brief description of the work when performing field surveys for a new building or reconstruction of an existing railway gives a clear idea of the sequence of works, devices used, the number of persons involved in this process. And with great probability one can say that there are errors, inaccuracies, and other moments that are different in nature for the future construction of historical monuments (the Leaning Tower of Leaning, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in 2006, the tower peak was rejected by 5.3 m from the center of the building) and sometimes fatal [4,6,8,12].…”

“…This is very important because track geometry faults can be avoided. If track faults aren't eliminated speed restrictions have to be used that cause additional traction energy and time consumption of railway vehicles in operation [14,15]. These energy and time consumption values can be calculated according to the allowed speed and type of railway vehicles, as well as through-rolled tons.…”
