Traditional food is one of the cultural products that was created to meet primary human needs by involving local wisdom. Various types of traditional food are processed from plants taken from the surrounding environment and other places. Local communities have specific interactions and perceptions of plants as ingredients for their traditional foods. The goal was to determine the diversity, the categories of utilization, the organs used, the preparation methods, and the Cultural Significance Index (ICS) of plants in traditional Tuban food ingredients. This research was conducted by surveying 117 respondents from 20 sub-districts in Tuban Regency, followed by in-depth interviews with 20 traditional food makers in Tuban. The data obtained is in the form of qualitative data in the form of local knowledge of the Tuban people regarding plants in their traditional food ingredients, while quantitative data is in the form of the Cultural Significance Index (ICS). The results showed that there were 15 families consisting of 10 species of plants in traditional Tuban food, all of which were cultivated plants, the most used category of plants as spices and the organs most used were seeds and the highest ICS value was Oryza sativa L.

In Indonesia, 2145 watersheds currently need to be restored, where around 21 million people spread over ± 23,000 villages live below the poverty line with a high dependence on forests. This condition requires an integrated approach in watershed management, which is aimed at technically restoring environmental conditions and ensuring the welfare of the people in it. One of the strategic approaches that can be taken is to revive local wisdom and traditional knowledge (TK), which has been eroded and neglected, and integrate them with technical approaches based on modern science and knowledge. Based on the author’s research and literature studies, this paper discusses the theoretical framework and implementation practices in integrating traditional knowledge into a science-based sociotechnical system to manage upstream watersheds sustainably. Based on the empirical evidence, efforts to create good biophysical and socio-economic watershed conditions can only be achieved through the active participation of farmers in adopting and integrating scientific technology into their traditional knowledge. This integration is realized in designing and implementing watershed management technology by considering the principles of suitability, applicability, feasibility, and acceptability. In the long term, it is necessary to document TK, patent it, and transfer it to the next generation to ensure that indigenous peoples’ and local communities’ social, cultural, and economic interests are protected.

Naskah Peraturan Bimbang dalam Negeri Bangkahulu adalah naskah undang-undang yang disalin pada tahun 1882 atau lebih dari 200 tahun lalu. Perbedaan zaman antara masa naskah tersebut disalin dengan masa sekarang memungkinkan adanya perbedaan budaya yang dipresentasikan, terutama dari segi bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memprsentasikan isi naskah yang terbaca, menjelaskan adat perkawinan yang dideskripsikan dalam naskah Peraturan Bimbang dalam Negeri Bangkahulu, dan menambahkan informasi dari sumber yang berkaitan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dengan kajian filologi dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adat perkawinan bimbang suku Melayu di Daerah Bengkulu telah diatur sejak tahun 1880-an. Peraturan adat perkawinan tersebut terbagi atas tiga rangkaian: sebelum pernikahan, saat acara pernikahan, dan setelah acara pernikahan. Selain itu, naskah tersebut juga menggambarkan kearifan lokal suku Melayu di Bengkulu melalui pembayaran mahar dan peralatan adat perkawinan yang cukup kompleks. Selain itu, penentuan mahar dalam naskah ini juga menunjukkan adanya stratifikasi sosial dalam masyarakat saat itu.
