Abstract:The study is an attempt to validate the effects of fermented rice beverage on gut microbiota and health, using mouse model. Rice beverage, soluble and insoluble fractions were fed to the animals for 30 days. Gut bacteria and metabolites were studied on 0th and 30th days of treatments. Next generation of sequencing of fecal metagenomic 16S rDNA indicated changes in abundance of 17 bacteria in the rice beverage treatment followed by 11 and 7 respectively in the soluble and insoluble fractions.
