Transcriptome analysis of eutopic endometrial stromal cells in women with adenomyosis by RNA-sequencing

Abstract: This study aimed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and molecular pathways in eutopic endometrial stromal cells (EuESCs) from adenomyosis (AM) patients and to provide a new insight into the disease mechanisms. The gene expression profiles in adenomyotic EuESCs (A-EuESCs) and normal ESCs (N-ESCs) were analyzed by RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) and validated by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pa… Show more

“…Gan et al [87], using a sequencing technique coined mRNA-Seq, compared the expression of genes in endometrial stromal cells obtained during the secretory phase from women with adenomyosis to those from controls. There was a total of 458 up-regulated and 363 down-regulated genes in adenomyosis.…”

“…By integrating genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and other -omics data, we seek to identify crucial genes and pathways that play pivotal roles in the development, progression, and potentially the treatment of endometriosis (7). Understanding the molecular basis of endometriosis is critical not only for shedding light on the disease's etiology but also for discovering potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets (8). In this study, we will conduct a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis, including differential gene expression analysis, pathway enrichment analysis, protein-protein interaction network analysis, and functional annotation, to elucidate the molecular signatures associated with endometriosis (9).…”
