Transcriptome Sequencing of CeRNA Network Constructing in Status Epilepticus Mice Treated by Low-Frequency Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Abstract: It is shown that great progress was recently made in the treatment of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for neurological and psychiatric diseases. This study aimed to address how rTMS exerted it therapeutic effects by regulating competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) of lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA. The distinction of lncRNA, miRNA and mRNA expression in male status epilepticus (SE) mice treated by two different ways, low-frequency rTMS (LF-rTMS) vs. sham rTMS, was analyzed by high-throughput sequencing. … Show more

“…The parameters of HF‐rTMS delivery were as follows: 20 Hz frequency, stimulation intensity at 20% 1‐s train duration, inter‐train interval of 14 s, and 20 trains per session. Each session of HF‐rTMS consisted of 1600 pulses/day delivered within 20 min and for 14 consecutive days (once a day in the morning) (S. Zhang et al., 2023 ).…”

“…In another study, rTMS mitigated brain ischemic stroke injury in rats by preventing M1 microglia polarization mediated by “let-7b-5p/HMGA2/NF-κB signaling” regulation [ 151 ]. In a recent study in mice imposed by status epilepticus, low frequency rTMS was found to alter the expression levels of 510 mRNAs, 1615 lncRNAs, and 17 miRNAs, including those linked to GABA-A receptor activity and immune functions [ 152 ].…”
