Abstract:We propose an optical configuration of a transflective-antiferroelectric liquid crystal display (TR-AFLCD) in which an achromatic condition is employed using two AFLC cells. In both the reflective and the transmissive modes, the configuration provides excellent dark states as well as maximum transmittance and reflectance without color dispersion. This configuration shows wide-viewing-angle characteristics because our TR-AFLCD is operated in the in-plane switching mode.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
