Great attention has been paid to the projects’ success, which is the core of project management. It is not surprising that much research is being done in this area, as several factors contribute to the project’s success. However, the moderating effect of top management support (TMS) on the relationship between transformational leadership (TL) and project success (PS) has not been investigated before. This study aims to examine whether the relationship between a project manager’s transformational leadership and project success is moderated by top management support. This study uses a post-positivism philosophical objective to investigate the theoretical model. A cross-sectional time-lagged survey design was used to collect quantitative data. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire from 273 team members, project managers, and stakeholders working in Pakistan’s public sector. The factor and hierarchical regression analysis were used for analysis. Our results showed that TL and TMS significantly impacted project success. Moreover, we found that TMS moderates the relationship between TL and PS.

Through the lens of social cognitive theory (SCT), we formulated hypotheses and tested the mediating role of psychological empowerment (PE) in linking transformational leadership (TL) to project success (PS). A structured questionnaire was used to gather responses from 356 team members, project managers, and stakeholders. Our findings demonstrated that PE and TL had a substantial influence on PS. Furthermore, we determined that PE partially mediates the relationship between TL and PS. This study sought to give insights into this relationship and identified PE as a precondition for TL effectiveness. These findings have implications for theorists and practitioners because they assert that the association between TL and PS may be explained by psychological empowerment as the underlying mechanism. By demonstrating how leaders inspire their followers to become leaders themselves, we elucidate how these findings add to the literature on leadership. We also go into further detail about the use of leadership training.

Emotional labor and job satisfaction among nurses: The mediating effect of nurse–patient relationship

Emotional labor is considered an important part of the role in the nursing field. Previous studies have found inconsistencies between emotional labor and job satisfaction of nurses, this is due to the relationship between them being affected by other factors. However, the current nurse-patient relationship is tense and leads to an unsafe and unstable working environment for nurses. It has yet to be confirmed whether the nurse-patient relationship can be used as a mediating variable to further explain the association that exists between emotional labor and job satisfaction. Therefore, this study tested the mediating effect of the nurse-patient relationship between emotional labor and job satisfaction among Chinese nurses. A total of 496 nurses were included in the study. Data collection was from December 2021 to March 2022 using the convenience sampling method. SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 23.0 software were used to perform structural equation modeling and analyze the relationship between variables. The results showed surface acting negatively affected nurse-patient relationships and job satisfaction, contrary to deep acting and naturally felt emotions. The parallel mediation of nurse-patient trust and patient-centered nursing in the relationship between emotional labor and job satisfaction was found to be statistically significant. Our study highlighted the important mediation of nurse-patient trust and the importance of the positive effects of emotional labor. Future studies can use these findings as a reference to develop interventions.
