Regarding treatment, phage therapy uses viruses to lyse pathogenic bacteria. RNA interference and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing silence microbial virulence factors. Probiotics competitively exclude pathogens. Robotics and fluorescence imaging refine surgical techniques. Additional emerging modalities include biosensors detecting inflammatory mediators, regenerative gallbladder tissue engineering using stem cells, and artificial intelligence for real-time decision support. However, the optimal integration of novel technologies with current best practices remains unknown. Further research is needed to validate and optimize personalized diagnostics and therapeutics for cholecystitis.
