Transit Time Through the Border-Crossing Points: The Case Study of the Eu's Road BCP With Moldavia

Abstract: Summary. This paper provides an overview on the ACROSSEE project (funded by the ERDF under the SEE program), its objectives, general methodology, and the main results. Moreover, the main survey results are presented as they relate to the Romanian road and rail border-crossing points (BCPs) with the Eastern neighbourly country, Moldavia. Results include the actual status of the road BCP, surveys on exiting and entering traffic flows, answers to specific questionnaires of the truck and car drivers in relation wi… Show more

“…The model is upgraded for a proposed topology and new process made after the implementation of a dedicated smart equipment. Taking into consideration the cargo and other type of vehicle flows interaction, the nonuniform arrivals of vehicles and discrete event simulation stands as a feasible technique for investigating the serving stations capacity during the actual planning stage of the BCP area or for the proposed topology [12,13]. The software tools such as Aimsun, Vissim or Arena Rockwell allow the development of discrete simulation.…”

“…It can be seen in Table 2 as well that the input hole into the material is not a circle but its shape is rather an ovoid. Its size depends on the type of material and on the penetration time, but it can also be influenced by even slight inclination of the lance, because the stand-off distance is quite big compared to those commonly used for cutting or drilling [8][9][10][11].…”
