Transnational Aging

Abstract: This chapter focuses on pendular migration of older adults. Four widespread beliefs among the general public on this topic are challenged by reviewing empirical literature, including findings from our own qualitative research. These beliefs are that pendular migration is a temporary event followed by a permanent stay or a definite return, a second-best option, a time of relaxation, and a private matter.
