Abstract:The competition between the catalytic reaction and mass and heat transfer processes is presented with two objective: interpreting laboratory data and predicting full‐scale reactor performance. Internal and external mass transfer at the catalyst scale and gas–liquid resistance are first dealt with. Then heat transfer and possible ignition and extinction phenomena are reviewed. The consequence of these resistances are related to the operating conditions and reactor technology (batch/continuous, fixed bed, suspen… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
