Trivalent Chromium has no Effect on Delaying Azoxymethane-Induced Colorectal Cancer in FVB/NJ Mice

Abstract: As Cr(III) compounds have been shown to increase insulin sensitivity and decrease plasma cholesterol and triglycerides in rodent models of diabetes and insulin resistance and as colorectal cancer risk has been associated with insulin resistance and diabetes, the effects of the Cr(III) compound Cr3 ([Cr3O(O2CCH2CH3)6(H2O)3](+)) were investigated in male and female FVB/NJ mice with azoxymethane-induced colorectal cancer.
