Tunable emission and the systematic study on energy-transfer properties of Ce3+- and Tb3+-co-doped Sr3(PO4)2 phosphors

Abstract: An emitting color tunable phosphor Sr 3 (PO 4 ) 2 : Ce 3? , Tb 3? was synthesized by the traditional high-temperature solid-state reaction method. The photoluminescence and energy-transfer (ET) properties of Ce 3? -and Tb 3? -doped Sr 3 (PO 4 ) 2 host were studied in detail. The obtained phosphors show both a blue emission from Ce 3? and a yellowish green emission from Tb 3? with considerable intensity under ultraviolet (UV) excitation (*311 nm). When the content of Ce 3? was fixed at 0.03, the emission chroma… Show more

“…As the Tm 3+ doping concentration x increases, the emission intensity first rises and then declines, peaking at x = 0.04, indicating a quenching effect when x > 0.04. According to Blasse’s report, the mean volume for per activator ion at quenching concentration can be written as …”

“…For example, the Tb 3+ ‐doped Sr 3 (PO 4 ) 2 phosphor was synthesized by a sol–gel combustion method as a green light‐emitting UV‐convertible phosphor . Ce 3+ ‐ and Tb 3+ ‐co‐doped Sr 3 (PO 4 ) 2 phosphors have been prepared by solid‐state reaction, and their emission and energy‐transfer properties have been investigated . In addition, a double‐emitting blue phosphor Sr 3 (PO 4 ) 2 :Eu 2+ ,Dy 3+ was synthesized by solid‐state reaction under a H 2 atmosphere .…”

“…[16] Ce 3+and Tb 3+ -codoped Sr 3 (PO 4 ) 2 phosphors have been prepared by solid-state reaction, and their emission and energy-transfer properties have been investigated. [17] In addition, a double-emitting blue phosphor Sr 3 (PO 4 ) 2 :Eu 2+ ,Dy 3+ was synthesized by solid-state reaction under a H 2 atmosphere. [18] However, as far as we know, there have been few previous reports on Sr 3 (2%) were weighed out according to established stoichiometric ratios, and ground thoroughly in an agate mortar.…”
