Abstract:The nanoparticles-induced vertical alignment (NIVA) of the nematic liquid crystals (LC) was proposed to make a tunable liquid-crystal flat microlens with hybrid-aligned nematic (HAN) mode, which was fabricated using micro drop technology. The minute amount of nanoparticle solution was dropped on the selective area, which was surrounded by homogeneous alignment layer. Due to vertical alignment induced by the nanoparticles, the liquid-crystal concave microlens with concentric non-uniform distribution of the refr… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
