“…Similarly, as a multifunctional support, WO 3 is widely used as an auxiliary support and co-catalyst for the electrooxidation of methanol and ethanol. Gwebu [78] deposited Pd nanoparticles on a composite support of functionalized carbon nanodots (FCNDs) and WO 3 by the borohydride reduction method, and demonstrated that the presence of WO 3 in Pd/FCNDs electrocatalysts improves the kinetics, tolerance to poisoning and alkaline conditions, and long-term durability under alkaline conditions. CV tests in 0.1 MKOH showed that the PdO reduction peak of the Pd/fCNDs catalysts appeared at À 0.66 V, and the PdO reduction peak shifted to À 0.92 V with the addition of WO 3 , indicating an improvement in electroactivity.…”
