Two channel laser speckle instrument for biological microflow localization and velocity measurements

Abstract: Laser speckle instrument for real-time capillary flow velocity measurements is described. The instrument is developed for investigation of lymph flow dynamics in transillumination geometry simultaneously with microscopic examination of rat lymfangions. The use of two independent channels of laser speckle registration allows both to measure flow velocity and to localize centerline flow along the probing beam direction with several micrometers resolution.
