Two‐component acrylic structural adhesive initiated by tributylborane for untreatedPETadhesion

Abstract: In order to improve the adhesion strength of acrylic adhesive to untreated poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) substrate, two-component acrylic structural adhesives initiated by tributylborane were prepared. The effects of acrylic monomers, elastomers, decomplexers, and oligomers on the adhesion properties of two-component acrylic structural adhesive were investigated in sequence. It is found that the shear strength on PET of adhesives toughened by acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer and carboxylterminate… Show more

“…To improve mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness, impact strength, and dimensional stability, polymers are usually filled with glass fibres (GF), basalt fibres, carbon fibres, and more recently natural fibres [1][2][3][4][5]. To improve the thermal, electrical, and tribological properties of polymers, various graphite powders are widely used as fillers [6,7]. To improve only tribological properties of polymers, other additives, such as MoS 2 , wax, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), have also been used [8][9][10][11].…”
