Two element folded meander line MIMO antenna for Wireless applications

Abstract: Compact antenna, appropriate gain, high efficiency, wide bandwidth, minimum envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), large total active reflection coefficient (TARC) bandwidth, and low specific absorption rate (SAR) are certain conditions set on the present/future generations of wireless communication antennas with the lowest cost of implementation. A compact low profile folded MIMO antenna has been designed using CST tool to cover application at 5.2 GHz. The reported folded MIMO antenna has bandwidth of 600 MH… Show more

“…The isolation of 11.0 dB was achieved between the ports at 5.2 GHz, a gain >3 dBi at resonating frequency, and 65% efficiency in the whole frequency band. The overall size of the substrate was 37.5 × 10 mm 2 [113]. Another 2 × 2 MIMO antenna was designed on FR-4 substrate ( ɛ r = 4.4, thickness = 1.524 mm, and loss tangent = 0.025) to achieve the compact design.…”

“…[19][20][21] However, these devices suffer from problems such as low data rates and tissue biocompatibility for coil-wound devices for cardiac telemetry dipole and microstrip embedded designs for use on the human body, according to finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) analysis. 22 Two or more ports are used in modern commercial applications, [23][24][25][26] whereas four ports can also be seen in wireless local area network (WLAN) applications. 27 A compact dual-band antenna on a polyamide substrate for on-body applications is proposed, designed, and analyzed herein.…”
