Two level security for medical images using watermarking/encryption algorithms

Abstract: In this article, an attempt is made to provide two level securities for medical images using watermarking and encryption. Watermarking provides security and encryption, authenticates medical image and provides integrity. Watermarking is performed by using a new nontensor product wavelet filter banks, which have the ability to reveal singularities in different directions. Natural image is taken as the original image and the medical image is taken as a watermark image. The medical image is embedded into the LH s… Show more

“…Using modified spread spectrum method, the retaliation of the imperceptible watermarking detector & watermark data, the zero watermarking process authenticates the patient identity. Kannammal et al [ 15 ] developed an algorithm with 2-level security with embedding and also with encryption using RSA and other algorithms. Sharma et al [ 30 ] developed a method using digital multitoning in embedding binary watermark.…”

“…In the following passages, various levels of protection methods based on watermarking algorithms with cryptography techniques will be disscussed. Kannammal and Rani suggested a scheme to protect medical images using watermarking embedded by LSB and discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and to encrypt the watermarked image by using three algorithms (AES, RSA, and RC4) to provide two-level security (47). Additionally, Al-Haj described the use of LSB, DWT, and singular value decomposition (SVD) for multiple image watermarking method (48).…”

“…Lamri Laouamer et al [33] has proposed a new approach for generating symmetric keys for image encryption / decryption, whereby the medical images (area of interest) use an informed process based on a technique that has been demonstrated on textual analysis called N-grams. Watermarking is performed by using a new nontensor product wavelet filter banks designed by A. Kannammal et al [34], which have the ability to reveal singularities in different directions. Natural image is taken as the original image and the medical image is taken as a watermark image.…”
