Abstract:A method to identify and characterize three-body resonances in a discrete basis is discussed in the context of two-nucleon emitters. For this purpose, a resonance operator is introduced and diagonalized in a basis of energy pseudostates within the hyperspherical formalism. Then, the energy and width of the resonance are obtained from its time dependence. The approach is illustrated for 16 Be ( 14 Be + n + n).

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
