Using the compound Styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) as a model of a drug, a novel approach for sustained endogenously formed liposome encapsulated drug delivery to the prostate gland has been evolved. Intra vas deferens depot of a combination of high molecular weight SMA (SMAh, the drug) and low molecular weight SMA (SMAl) is formed by one time injection. The SMAh breaks down sperm membrane to provide from the sperms a continuous supply of phospholipids. The SMAl forms cleavage centers causing slow breakaway of nano SMAh fragments. Vas peristaltic pressures provide the mechanical forces bringing reactants together leading to encapsulation of nano particles of SMAh within phospholipids cover giving a continuous supply of nano liposomes. A dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) constituent of the depot leads to sulfur attachment to the liposome on account of which by a prostate tissue sulfur affinity mechanism the nano liposomes traverse the vas deferens-prostate barrier. The concept has been tested by implantation of the SMA in the rat vas deferens. Formation of nano liposomes in vivo; actual encapsulation of SMA within the liposome; the overall drug Encapsulation Efficiency; presence of liposomes in the vas deferens fluid and transfer to the prostate have been confirmed by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) examination and Fluorescence microscopy following Nile Red staining of vas fluid and prostate tissue

Kontrasepsiyonun çeşitliliğinin artırılması, yöntemlerin olumsuz etkilerinin azaltılmasına ilişkin çalışmalar yıllardır devam etmekte ve yeni yöntemler çiftlerin kullanımına sunulmaktadır. Ancak geliştirilen ve kullanıma sunulan bu yöntemler kadına yönelik olup, aile planlamasındaki büyük sorumluluk kadınlara yüklenmektedir. Bu çalışmada literatür incelemesi yapılarak, erkek kontrasepsiyonunda yıllardır çeşitli çalışmalar sürmesine rağmen neden kullanıma sunulan yöntem olmadığı, erkek kontrasepsiyonundaki engellerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Erkek kontrasepsiyonunda çeşitliliğin artırılmasına ilişkin çalışmalar 1970'li yıllarda başlamasına rağmen yıllardır kondom, vazektomi ve geri çekme dışında kullanıma sunulan yeni yöntem yoktur. Geliştirilmeye çalışılan yeni bariyer, hormonal, nonhormonal yöntemlerin bazıları hayvan deneyleri, bazıları da insan deneyleri aşamasındadır. Literatür incelendiğinde, çalışmada erkek kontrasepsiyonundaki engellere ilişkin temel bulgular iki ana başlıkta toplamak mümkündür. Bunlardan birincisi çalışmaların sürdürülmesindeki engeller; maliyetin yüksek olması, çalışmaların istenilen başarıyı sağlayamaması, çalışmaya ilişkin tıbbi girişimlere ilişkin yan etkiler ve kullanım zorluğu nedeni ile gönüllülerin çalışmadan ayrılmasıdır. İkincisi ise erkek kontrasepsiyonunun kullanımını sınırlayan faktörlerdir. En dépit de l'attention actuellement focalisée sur le réchauffement global et le terrorisme, une autre Némésis du genre humain, la surpopulation mondiale, est un problème en croissance lente qui devrait nécessiter notre constante attention. Elle reste un facteur majeur de déstabilisation du bien-être de chacun de nous, contribuant au réchauffement global en entrant directement en collision avec le niveau d'empreinte humaine de carbone, et creusant l'abîme de bien-être entre les pays développés et ceux en voie de développement. En plus des mesures socio-politiques, telles que la limitation de la taille des familles par des lois et la réduction du taux d'illettrisme chez les femmes, de nouvelles méthodes de contraception et une amélioration de la qualité et de la prévalence de celles déjà existantes sont d'une importance majeure. Manifestement, en dehors du préservatif et de la vasectomie, aucune méthode de contraception réversible moderne n'est encore accessible pour les hommes. En dépit de leur large utilisation, le préservatif et la vasectomie ne sont pas des méthodes optimales, en raison de la faible efficacité d'utilisation du préser-vatif et de l'absence de réversibilité de la vasectomie. Le bas niveau d'implication masculine dans la planification familiale est une vraie opportunité manquée dans nos tentatives de contrôler l'explosion de la population mondiale ; aujourd'hui, la moitié des utilisateurs potentiels d'une contraception sont exclus.Bien que la croissance excessive de la population ne soit pas une préoccupation du monde développé, une implication plus active des hommes dans la régulation des naissances constitue une issue importante de l'égalité de genre. Une nouvelle formule masculine procurerait une meilleure contraception pour les couples qui ne peuvent utiliser aucune des méthodes féminines actuellement disponibles, par exemple pendant la période de contraception du post-partum.La population laïque a toujours fait preuve de cynisme et de scepticisme -y compris les professionnels de la santé -à l'égard de la contraception masculine.
