Abstract:Hydrocephalus, the leading indication for childhood neurosurgery worldwide, is particularly prevalent in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs). Hydrocephalus preceded by an infection, or postinfectious hydrocephalus (PIH), accounts for up to 60% of hydrocephalus in LMICs.
