Synthesis and DFT characterisation of 2-arylamino-1,4-benzoquinone derivatives as potential electron transfer mediators

The first attempt to synthesise 2-substituted derivatives 2c, d by the treatment of BQ with o-and p--methoxyanilines (1c, d) at the described conditions [6] was unsuccessful, we did not succeed to separate and purify purposive compounds. The main reasons for this failure were the formation of the considerable amount of 2,5-disubstituted products in these reaction conditions.…”
