Abstract:Novel optoelectronic circuits are presented that perform the analog mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, temporal differentiation, and temporal integration for electrical signals that may have arbitrary frequency components in the extremely broad range of 0-100 GHz. Recent reports have demonstrated that simple, integrated-optic Mach-Zehnder intensity modulators with an almost flat frequency response may be constructed. The ultrafast (~3-ps rise time) cascadable circuits described h… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
