This article presents the collections of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo and describes the results obtained from the implementation of an online interface for FAUUSP collections, developed with the Omeka S platform for sharing and collaborating with organized and structured data and information. As part of the discussion, it summarizes the historical moment in which the importance of the design and architecture archives, and collections is discussed, raising the history of the institution’s catalogue and covering issues involving their online dissemination. A special topic of metadata, specifically Dublin Core, the standard adopted by FAUUSP, is also presented. Results are commented and perspectives for the continuity of the platform are also discussed.

Objectives: to report the experience of using architectural designs of a hospital for a historical documentary research. Methods: report of the experience of the methodological route of using architectural designs of a model hospital from 1974 to 2002. Results: after being spread on a worksheet, the projects of interest were selected, enabling the data arrangement, where the analytical chart was applied, containing: context; authorship; authenticity/ reliability; nature of the text and preliminary analysis. The findings were grouped by pertinence and similarity, resulting in the construction of categories of analysis. Final Considerations: architectural design is a challenging source, both for its pursuit, since it took two and a half years until it was legally licensed, as well as for involving specific terminologies and symbology of its own. A special attention should be given to the selection criteria, organization and analysis of the document, and sharing the access of unusual sources with the health area, like this one, so as to stimulate the development of research.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo problematizar o uso das revistas especializadas como fonte para pesquisa em história da arquitetura. Para tal, serão analisadas quantitativa e qualitativamente as publicações em revistas especializadas de arquitetura sobre as intervenções realizadas no edifício do Theatro Municipal nas décadas de 1950 e 1980, e seu uso como fonte para a pesquisa de mestrado da autora. O corpo documental analisado é composto por quatro edições da revista Acrópole, uma edição da revista Engenharia Municipal, três edições da revista Projeto, uma edição da revista AU e duas edições da revista A Construção. A primeira seção do trabalho é dedicada à uma breve apresentação da pesquisa de mestrado e seus objetivos, assim como à análise quantitativa das publicações em questão. A segunda e a terceira, à anális das publicações separadas em duas etapas cronológicas, respectivamente 1950 e 1980, contextualizadas do ponto de vista da história da imprensa especializada de arquitetura no Brasil, e abordadas de acordo com a metodologia proposta por Tania de Luca, Paula Dedecca e Héctor García-Diego, explorada na quarta seção.
