Abstract: Resumo: Introdução: A associação entre doenças crônicas, dependência funcional e hospitalização representa grande risco para a população idosa, pois contribui para diminuição da capacidade funcional. Objetivo: Descrever um protocolo de atuação do Terapeuta Ocupacional com idosos hospitalizados com diagnóstico de doenças crônicas, abordando aspectos sensoriais, cognitivos, psicomotores e funcionais, e analisar se esse protocolo maximiza a independência na atividade de alimentação.
