Understanding tradeoffs in incremental deployment of new network architectures

Abstract: Despite the plethora of incremental deployment mechanisms proposed, rapid adoption of new network-layer protocols and architectures remains difficult as reflected by the widespread lack of IPv6 traffic on the Internet.
