Abstract:This paper provides an overview of Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT) and its application in academic libraries. Utilizing a qualitative approach to content analysis, this study synthesizes existing scholarship and addresses gaps in the literature. The scope and utility of ChatGPT in academic libraries are explored, revealing its potential to function as an intelligent virtual librarian.
