Up-Conversion Photoluminescence in Thulia and Ytterbia Co-Doped Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia Single Crystals

Abstract: ZrO2 is an attractive host matrix for luminescence material because of its excellent physical properties, such as low phonon energy and wide band gap. In this work, the highly transparent Tm2O3 and Yb2O3 co-doped yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) (abbreviated as Yb/Tm: YSZ) single crystals were grown by the optical floating zone method.
