Abstract:Pacemaker patients with heart failure and dominant paced heart rhythm benefit substantially from an upgrade to BVP, in terms of physical performance and symptoms. The upgrade resulted in significantly improved cardiac function as reflected by reduced levels of pro-BNP.
“…There is actually sufficient evidence that patients with preexisting LV dysfunction and indication for standard "ventricular" pacing should preferentially be treated with resynchronization therapy (CRT) (de Teresa et al, 2007;Höijer et al, 2006). Although biventricular pacing therapy resynchronizes the ventricles of asynchronous hearts, the primary concern during ventricular pacing of otherwise normal hearts is to prevent mechanical desynchronization.…”

“…Aunque actualmente se carece de amplios estudios prospectivos aleatorizados que aborden expresamente la cuestión del paso a TRC, los resultados de cuatro pequeños estudios aleatorizados [108][109][110][111] son esperanzadores (tabla 14). Todos ellos tuvieron un diseño cruzado, en el cual se comparó un periodo de 2-6 meses de TRC con otro de 2-6 meses de estimulación del VD.…”

“…Chociaż obecnie brakuje dużych prospektywnych, randomizowanych badań klinicznych dotyczących kwestii ulepszenia do CRT, wyniki z 4 małych randomizowanych badań są zachęcające (tab. 14) [108][109][110][111]. Każde z nich było badaniem typu cross-over i w każdym porównywano 2-6-miesięczny okres stosowania CRT z 2-6 miesiącami stymulacji RV.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
