“…The aim of upper extremity surgery in CP is to improve function, aesthetic appearance, and limb hygienic care. The surgery should help a better hand positioning by balancing the work of the spastic muscles, namely weakening the overactive muscles, strengthening weak muscles and stabilizing the joints [6]. The treatment decisions and the expected functional treatment outcome are dependent on how much the patient uses the hand, which in-turn is dependent on factors like severity of CP, and patient's mental and Psychosocial status [7,8].…”
