The United Nation Sustainable Development Goals were designed as interrelated guidelines for the development of a better future for all mankind. the Covid 19 pandemic related shut down of trade and the post pandemic food shortages have put increasing pressure to develop locally based sustainable food security. This food security can be found in the self-sufficient semi-subsistence Javanese village community in Dlingo, Grobogan Regency. The efficient allocation of land resources through the systematic distribution of food crops from the sawah (paddy fields), kebun (gardens), common areas, and pekarangan (home gardens), along with dietary practices that utilize locally sourced components, contribute to an ideal state of food self-sufficiency. Through semi structured interviews and field observations, all local food plant species were catalogued and categorized by taxonomy, utility and cultural significance index. The staple foods: Rice (Oryza sativa L.) (50.00), corn (Zea mays L.) (44.70), and Casava (Manihot esculenta L.) (24,30) demonstrated the highest scores reflecting both the agricultural practice of corn-rice crop rotation and the dietary habits of Dlingo village that produce sego jagung, processed corn with a rice-like texture. Traditional salads such as urap-urapan, pecel, and rujak along with traditional soups such as jangan lodeh, jangan asem, and sop still dominates the dietary habits of people from Dlingo optimizing the local fruits, vegetables, and spices further sustainably providing food security.

Abstrak: Peningkatan emisi karbon di Indonesia menjadi masalah yang perlu ditangani, salah satunya melalui inventarisasi kawasan yang potensial menyerap karbon. Salah satu kawasan yang potensial menyerap karbon inorganik yaitu kawasan karst melalui proses karstifikasi. Namun, penelitian tentang serapan karbon inorganik di kawasan karst utamanya di kawasan karst tropis masih jarang diteliti. Potensi serapan karbon inorganik ini perlu dikaji untuk mengetahui peran penting kawasan karst dalam upaya pengurangan emisi karbon global. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi nilai serapan karbon inorganik di Kawasan Karst Biduk-Biduk dan nilai pentingnya dalam mendukung upaya pengurangan emisi karbon di Indonesia. Serapan karbon inorganik dihitung berdasarkan nilai laju pelarutan batuan karbonat menggunakan standard limestone tablet. Nilai penting kawasan karst dalam pengurangan emisi karbon dimodelkan dengan perbandingan nilai total serapan karbon inorganik di kawasan karst dan nilai emisi karbon di Indonesia. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa potensi yang dimiliki Karst Tropis Biduk-Biduk untuk menyerap karbon inorganik sebesar 726,864 tons/years-CO2. Serapan karbon inorganik menunjukkan adanya variasi berdasarkan perbedaan kondisi morfologi permukaan, yaitu pada wilayah dengan kemiringan lereng datar memiliki nilai serapan karbon inorganik lebih besar. Nilai ini dapat membantu untuk mengurangi emisi karbon di Kalimatan Timur sebesar 7,3% dan Indonesia sebesar 0,5%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa perlunya konservasi kawasan karst untuk mendukung program pengurangan emisi karbon di Indonesia.

Since people living in a karst area periodically face a crisis due to a lack of fresh water, it is necessary to re-evaluate the ability to use water resources. An appropriate and effective management is required to use available water resource sustainably. We describe a management process of exploring underground river in karst region as water resources. The activities completed included four phases, namely exploration, pre-lifting activities, the water lifting and post-lifting activities. The exploration phase included speleological surveys and data collection for the cave mouth using remote sensing instrument. The pre-lifting was done to prepare various requirements before the lifting process was completed. The water lifting phase consisted of the construction of an underground river dam, the installation of submersible pumps, the construction of reservoirs and the installation of piping to connect to the public hydrant. The post-lifting phase was mainly conducted to organise water distribution evenly. This management model was evidenced to successfully overcome drought in Pucung village by providing fresh water to the local community. Moreover, this model promoted residents’ cost savings by reducing their expenses for buying water from IDR 50,000/m3 to IDR 3,500/m3 (1,300 percent).
