“…In the studies conducted by Bartoli et al with children with UPO, they have showed that b 2 microglobulin levels are high in functional and obstructive congestion and that it drops in cases where the stenosis is eliminated with surgery. 26 In this experimental model, the increase of the urine values in Group UPO after stenosis demonstrates: b 2 microglobulin levels decreased back to its normal limits with alfuzosin treatment in Group UPT. Serum K, P, Cl, Ca, BUN, and creatinine levels in Group UPT administered with alfuzosin reaches back to its statistically significant normal values compared to Group UPO, and that its renal functions were conserved with alfuzosin treatment.…”

“…For instance, CCL2/MCP-1 and CXCL8/IL-8 are the chemokines more commonly associated with pediatric renal diseases [7,11,12,15,16,19,20,46,47,55,58,[65][66][67][68][69][73][74][75].…”

“…In pediatric patients with CAKUT, the chemokine CCL2/MCP-1 has been associated with urinary tract obstruction in UPJO [65][66][67][68], whereas high urinary levels of CXCL8/IL-8 were found in VUR [73][74][75]. This chemokine has been also correlated to the presence of renal scarring [73] renal function deterioration in CAKUT patients [12].…”
